Doctor!
Her name is Madeline Duffy and we found her on the pier at the edge of town. She was all alone, staring off into the distance as if watching a sunset. She was licking the honey off of her fingers and out of the pastry box. She was mumbling crazy things like, 'I'm sorry Crete, so sorry', 'can't leave yet','baklava, baklava, baklava'. I'm afraid she blacked out, doctor. When she finally came to she said she only remembered licking her fingers and staring at the empty box oozing with honey. She didn't know how much she ate or how she got there. On lookers said it all started at the Bakery. A witness said she ordered FIVE different types of baklava. This was confirmed by others in the bakery. We've sent the Bakeress to the police station for a reprimand, her lack of caution aided this tragedy.
Others on the pier said she did not stop until she ate them all. One after another. "It was as if she was on a mission. I can only eat two myself. That's when I started to think 'this one's crazy!'". One man said there was a brief pause between the 4th and 5th. This was when she picked the last one up, eyed it for quite some time, looked at the town as though it were a dream and nearly threw the last one into her mouth. "It was as if she were eating her feelings! Yes. Exactly that! Eating her feelings!"
.. Too much to handle, doc. We think she went into a sugar coma. We're entrusting her to your care. It seems as though she may be too much to handle and could need rehab in France. We hear that they have a croissant and cappuccino facility in Nice that could do the job.
Anyway, she's all yours.
